Graduation is one of those milestones worth celebrating properly. After years of study, late nights, exams and hard work, a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers is a wonderful way to say congratulations – you did it!
At Harakeke Florist, we create beautiful graduation flowers in Christchurch, with bouquets available for collection from our Sumner store or delivery throughout Christchurch.
Whether you're celebrating a graduate from the University of Canterbury, Ara Institute of Canterbury, Lincoln University, or you're a Christchurch parent travelling south for a University of Otago graduation in Dunedin, we can create something special for their big day.
Graduation Bouquets Christchurch
A graduation bouquet should feel joyful, celebratory and photograph beautifully.
Our florists select from the best seasonal flowers available at the Christchurch flower market, creating bouquets filled with colour, texture and personality.
You might choose something bright and colourful, soft and elegant, or simply leave the flower selection to us. Our florist's choice bouquets are particularly lovely for graduation because we can work with the most beautiful seasonal flowers available that week.
If you know your graduate's favourite colour or flower, add a note when ordering and we'll do our best to incorporate it.
What Flowers Should You Give for Graduation?
There really aren't any rules when it comes to graduation flowers.
Bright seasonal blooms are perfect for celebrating an exciting achievement, while classic whites and softer tones can create a more timeless bouquet.
You can also choose colours that have special meaning to the graduate or simply select flowers you know they'll love.
The most important thing is that the bouquet feels like a celebration of them.

Heading to a University of Otago Graduation in Dunedin?
We know plenty of Christchurch families make the trip south to celebrate their children graduating from the University of Otago in Dunedin.
If you're driving down for graduation, you can pre-order a graduation bouquet from Harakeke Florist and collect it from our Sumner store before you leave Christchurch.
It means you can arrive in Dunedin with a beautiful, professionally made bouquet ready for the ceremony – and one less thing to organise when you get there.
Let us know that you're travelling with the flowers when ordering and we can make sure your bouquet is wrapped appropriately for the journey.
Flowers for University of Canterbury, Lincoln, Ara & Otago Graduations
Graduation ceremonies take place throughout the year, so we recommend ordering your flowers ahead of time whenever possible.
Graduation weeks can be particularly busy, especially around ceremonies for:
University of Canterbury
Lincoln University
Ara Institute of Canterbury
University of Otago in Dunedin
Other Canterbury schools, tertiary institutions and training providers
Pre-ordering means you can have one less thing to think about on graduation day.
Make Their Graduation Flowers Extra Special
Flowers are beautiful on their own, but you can also turn your graduation bouquet into a complete gift.
Pair your flowers with something from our carefully selected range of gifts, homewares and locally loved brands available at Harakeke Florist.
And don't forget the card.
A few simple words – “We are so proud of you” – can mean just as much as the flowers themselves.
